An Old Art Form

Let's face it, furniture is not made like it used to be. There are quite a few of "Antique" and "Vintage" pieces that I have had the pleasure to work on. These pieces from the past have a lot to say. They have been stuffed with horse hair, hay and everything natural that is so uncommon in our modern world. I think the closest product available in retail as far as being a "natural" or "raw" material to stuff furniture with, is goose down. So when working on these treasures of the past, it's important to try and keep their "natural" state while transforming them into artistic, beautiful pieces of furniture again. Each piece that is brought to my boutique for work is carefully taken apart literally piece by piece and then put back together with new fabric, padding, cushion, all with a brand new modern look.
